altering pitch of playback
i've got a score i'm writing for glock trio at school. i've an alto glock part that sounds an octave below the other glocks but the kids only read treble clef. when i'm writing the score i need to see it as a score from middle C upwards but on playback HEAR it played down an octave so i can tell what it will sound like when the kids play it.
i know i could keep moving the whole part up and down between writing and playback but is there an easier way?

If it doesn't bother the kids too much: simply use a different clef (8va alta) and then shift the notes by one octave back using the Ctrl arrow key. Then it looks almost the same (except for the small 8 on the clef), but sounds an octave off.
Other way: Use for all measures the 8va alta line and hide it.

that is a brilliantly simple yet really effective solution. i've done it and already exposed some odd harmonies that i'd not have spotted otherwise. huge thanks!! never expected such a useful response so quickly!! bravo!
