Musescore 4 not working on Mac

I used to use musescore all the time and never had issues, My school district has now moved to macs and suddenly musescore does not work properly. I am fully missing the usual file and edit buttons at the top of the page and thus can not access any of those features. I have already searched the forums and internet to find an answer to this and was unable to.
