Anvil Sound?
I am looking for an anvil sound. Went into the orchestra family, selected percussion unpitched and selected anvil. Why does it sound like a ratchet?

Which version of MuseScore? Sounds like an anvil in 4.3. A little high pitched.

I'm hearing the same sound used for Anvil, Automobile Brake Drum, and Iron Pipes. Definitely a higher pitch than I've ever heard a real anvil ring. In a musical situation, do percussionists use an actual blacksmith's anvil? Or what?

I figured it out. Next issue. Can I write a tam-tam and concert bass drum on the same staff playing at the same time?

I think they're both on the "Drumset" instrument. If not, I don't believe so.
Regardless, it's always preferable to keep a single thread about a single issue. You would do better to open a new thread for this new question.
