Can't beam over dotted eighth rest
Not sure if this is new with v4.3 - I've surely done this many times before.
I cannot force a beam over a dotted eighth rest. I intemittently can't beam over a dotted eighth note.
The score I was working on was in 2/2 which I thought may have been the reason, but it's still a problem in 4/4.
Playing with the Time Signature properties so that 1/16 notes are all beamed by default didn't help.
WORKAROUND: I discovered that if I use 1/8+1/8, add the beam and then dot the 1st 1/8 then the beam remains. (Works for rest and note cases)

And similarly.
1. Add one 1/8 note.
2. Add a 1/8 rest
3. Add two 1/16 notes (the second one should be the one to keep).
4. Beam over the 1/8 rest.
5. Dot the 1/8 rest

That works but it's painful with large chords. The piece I discovered this issue in is a jazz work with pages of similar figurations with different chords. Having to workaround is very time consuming.

Do this with chords. You have to enter all the notes anyway.
Enter the notes of the chord, 1/8 notes
Enter 1/8 rest
Enter the second chord as 1/16 notes.
Hit "R" so you don't have to re-enter all the notes.
Beam over the 1/8 rest
Dot the 1/8 rest.
There's a connected problem where if the dotted eighth follows a beamed triplet, then a beam is forced to the dotted note, and can't be removed without elaborate contortions of adding and removing dots and beams in the right order.

Hmmmm. select the dotted 1/8 and Break Beam Left. Work for me when that happened.

I wrote the post because break beam operations don't work. I have to do a dot-undot dance

Sorry. On my system. when the dotted 1/8 th beamed to the triplet, I did what I said and it broke the beam. Don't know what that might mean. I'm on 4.3.

The explanation: it's a known issue (regression of 4.3.0): https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/22732 and https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/22730
Fixed for the next version 4.3.1, here: https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/pull/22753
