Unable to save or print .mscz files

• Jul 7, 2024 - 23:50

Dear MuseScore:
I've been using the free version of MuseScore for a couple months without a problem. About two weeks ago I was suddenly unable to save or print .mscz files. If purchasing MuseScore will enable saving and printing, I'd like to do that, but I have an open project in the editor that needs to be saved asap before it's lost. Please send recovery instructions via email to the address below. FYI I uploaded the diagnostic .zip file generated by MuseScore. If recovery is not possible and my open project appears in the diagnostic .zip file, please send the .mscz file to me as an attachment to an email so I can open it after a purchased copy of MuseScore has been installed.
Thank you for your kind assistance,
Ron Umble

There is no paid version of MuseScore notation software. How are you trying to save the file? It can make a difference. Save or Save As? Can you Export it as a PDF as a last resort? You might also have a back up.

Your first (and safest) choice is always be to save the score on your own PC, using Save or Save As.

Using Save to Cloud or Publish attempts to save your score on musescore.com, and this does require that you first log on to musescore.com. See a previous thread about failures to publish:
