Change in tone and instrument every time MuseScore needs an update?!

Whenever I go into a score I have made on MuseScore when it has an update, the notes always sound really funky and really reverbed and wavy. I use the violin instrument and when this happens it makes everything 300x slower than the tempo I've set, and it sounds like a Cello gone wrong. If this is because I need to update it every time, that's silly. If it's not and it is a bug, how do I fix it? I've restarted MuseScore 3 times (all of different internets), and nothings worked.
