Middle C is shown as C3 instead of C4
The status bar is showing the middle C as C3 instead of C4. This is very confusing. The standard is C4, derived from A4 = 440 Hz. Sibelius show it as C4 as well.

FWIW, this is *not* universal, and Middle C = C3 has its adherents as well. But Middle C = C4 is probably more common. And perhaps more to the point, it's how MuseScore labels pitches in the playable range and string data dialogs too. So we should fix it to be consistent if for no other reason.
Esp. as #34726: Wrong octave in musicxml has been closed as by design, with the very same arguments (but ignoring the issue reg. the wrong display in the status bar)

FWIW, this is also in line with the range dialogs in staff properties where middle C is C4.
Automatically closed -- issue fixed for 2 weeks with no activity.
Is there a way to let the user of the program select whether middle C is C3 or C4?
My keyboard uses C3.

Regardless of whether it is labelled C3 or C4 or C5, middle C is universally defined to be MIDI pitch 60. If your keyboard is sending something else in its "note on" messages, perhaps you have accidentally enabled a transpose mode on the keyboard. Consult the documentation for your keyboard to learn how to turn it off.
