Notehead Parentheses behavior

I mainly notate for marching percussion, and the style I generally use for notating crossovers on marching tenors is to enclose the notehead of the crossed-over note in parentheses. MuseScore 4 has the very handy “Notehead Parentheses” section in properties, but in playback, it seems that parenthesizing a notehead makes it a ghost note, so the note playback is extremely quiet. Is there a way to override this, so the playback isn’t changed by the notehead being parenthesized?
