Instrument changes after upgrading to MS4.4.1. Is This Normal?

Yesterday, when I started my MuseScore application, a prompt advised me to upgrade to MS4.4.1, stating that many bugs had been fixed and that upgrading would be beneficial. So, I did. However, I later discovered that in some of my files, instruments had been changed from Muse Sounds to MS Basics. Is this normal? Will this always happen with an upgrade?

It can happen. FWIW, when I upgraded to 4.4.1, I downloaded the MSI from the download page and did it that way.
