Playback problems since latest two updates on Mac
As far as I can tell, these two things worked for me before the two recent updates.
I am on
OS: macOS 12.7, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore Studio version (64-bit): 4.4.1-242490810, revision: 0b3dd00
1) Control+Space used to bring the playhead either to the first bar of the score or to the first bar of the loop.
Currently, when I hit Control+Space, the playhead does not move.
2) I am not able anymore to open the playback settings in the properties panel for the repeat bar or the last bar in a repeated section.
I would like to set the repeat count, but I am not able to open the settings. The playback button that used to open these settings is greyed out and not clickable.

I just remember that I set the shortcut for rewind to Control+Space.
So the problem in 1) is, that the shortcut does not have any effect anymore.
I just set and saved the shortcut for rewind again.
Not working as expected.

Problem 2: I don't fully understand what you mean...

Can you use that to make a screenshot of the functionality that you're missing in 4.4.1?
I added a screenshot from 4.4.1 with the missing playback settings.
This applies to
- the repeat bar
- any bar in the repeated sequence
My understanding is, that I could use the playback settings to define the number of repeats.

Repeat barlines don't really have a playback setting, the number of repeats is set in the properties of the measure containing the end repeat barline. It has never been different, is that way ever since.
So your understanding is wrong (and more whishfull thinking)

Thanks for the clarification.
However, I don't get the playback settings no matter what I select:
- the bar (measure) containing the start-repeat barline
- the bar (measure) containing the end-repeat barline
- the bar after the end-repeat barline
Looks like the screen shot I sent. Just with the measure selected.
Am I still missing out on something obvious?

Right-click into the measure containing the end repeat barline. measure properties, play count

It never occurred to me that there could be two different property panels. One in the side bar and another one per context menu, named equally.
This is how I set it in the past then. Last used musescore probably a year ago.

This is indeed a janky situation, and we will definitely clean it up. The current "Measure properties" dialog is still a legacy from MS3. We could perhaps make it more discoverable by putting a link to it in the sidebar properties panel.

That being said, I think you all did an incredibly great job in cleaning up the entire application with MS4 !
