Playback on the first note of measure one, seems to clip (stutter?) before continuing playback.

It seems each time I engage playback at the beginning of the measure, the first note has issues in playing back smoothly. Is this a bug? or must I change a setting to correct this malfunction. I have already tried increasing the Input/output buffer in Preference to no result. The only way to hear the smooth transition to hear the rest of the score is to highlight the first note before playback.
