Playback at slow tempo
Hello, I'm using MuseScore Studio version 4.4.2. etc. (lots more numbers). I have a Vivace section which I need to play back slowly so that I can check the notes by ear. I can't find the menu where I can set the playback speed at e.g. 50% of the tempo marking. Where is it, please?
(I've read through the Handbook, but the 'tempo' section in my palettes doesn't allow me to change the playback speed.)
Thanks for any help you can provide.

For a temporary/one-time tempo change, use the Play Panel. In the upper right corner of the MuseScore window, you'll see the buttons to Play, Rewind, Loop, etc. Note that immediately left of the Rewind button is a button with six dots in a 2x3 grid. Click that "6-dots" button and drag it out of the toolbar. Once it is undocked, it has a few extra options, one of which is a slider bar that allows you to slow/speed the tempo by a percentage. This change is NOT saved with the file.
For a permanent tempo change, use the traditional Italian words or the metronome markings in the Tempo palette.

Thank you, thank you!! I didn't realise that you could/should drag the '6-dots' button.

That's a fairly common symbol. You might see 6 dots (in the 2x3 grid) or three dots in a vertical line or three dots in a triangle. They all (usually!!!) mean (something like) "Hey! There's something more here."

Yes, I should have been more curious...
Thank again

I've never seen these 6 dots before anywhere else

Three--in a vertical line or a triangle--is definitely more common, but I've seen six in one or two programs.

Three in a triangle I've never seen so far either.

I don’t know V4, still using V3.
Do you mean there is no « true » independent play panel (F11) anymore ?

There is, it is just docked to the tool bar by default
