Adding Pauses with "0" not working consistently on MacOS 15.1

• Nov 19, 2024 - 17:22

OS: macOS 15.1, Arch.: arm64, MuseScore Studio version (64-bit): 4.4.3-242971445, revision: eb6b367

Reproduce:
1. In a score, select a full bar pause
2. change the note length to 1/4 note (key 5)
3. Hit "0" on the keyboard.
4. Hit "B" on the keyboard.

Expected behaviour: The bar should start with a 1/4 pause, and then there should be a "b" as second symbol in the bar.

Currently: There is no pause, and the "b" is the first symbol in the bar.

Please advise if this is a bug, or whether the method of inserting a pause has changed.

Comments

The correct term for this "pause" is "rest" (as Jojo stated).

You have omitted a step: step 2 below. Try this:

  1. In a score, select a full-measure rest.
  2. Press N to enter note input mode.
  3. Press 5 to set note duration to quarter note.
  4. Press 0 to enter a quarter rest.
  5. Press B to enter a quarter note B.

This will result in the first two quarter notes in the measure being rest, then B.
