Diagonal line joining intrument staff with voice staff
Can someone make sense of this? The piece is for voice and bayan (button accordion). At the end of the piece there is a line joining notes from the left hand to the notes of the choir - what does this mean? It can't be the usual piano notation for playing with left or right hands. The resolution of the original does not make it clear whether it is a straight line or a wavy one (like in a glissando).

Use a Note-anchored line

But what should a player do at the end of the volta. The barline says go back, but the line says the phrase continues in the 4th time volta. I suggest it is a misprint and should be ignored as it makes no musical sense.

Agreed, it's incorrect notation because the first Volta (repeats 1, 2, 3) will never play directly into the first bar of the second Volta (repeat 4). The entire second Volta is an alternative to the first Volta.

Thank you DanielR and SteveBlower - yes it certainly looks like a misprint, especially as the line joins the vocal part from the instrument staff. Thanks for making me more comfortable ignoring it! :-)
Aha!!
Could be due to the photocopy of an errant staple mark:

Yes. Or maybe it was meant to be a glissando that moved away from its appointed place... Or maybe the typesetter had too much vodka.... ;-)
