Figured Bass has stopped working.

I was using the Roman numerals function and figured bass functions perfectly well two weeks ago, now they have stopped working. In Roman Numerals, I can no longer get a diminished sign by typing a small o, It just types a o next to the roman numeral.
With figured bass, when I put in , for example 6 over 4, instead of two small numbers on top of each other, I get 64 with a long thin black line scored above them.

I don't know what has changed, I'm still using the Cmd R and Cmd G shortcuts, but they are not having the expected effect. My assignments are taking forever!!
