Playback not working at all
Please help! No idea how to fix this issue. Screen recording attached, I have no idea how to explain until you see it. Some of my scores work fine, then as soon as I open a particular one, all playback just immediately glitches and stops. Not shown in video: once I have triggered this problem, no other scores will play either, and the application stops responding when I quit. Must be force quit every time. Like I said, please help! I'm a composition student and I need this for an assignment in lesson tomorrow. :(
It doesn’t seem like I’m able to upload the screen recording right now, so I’ll try to explain in words. I open scores regularly, they play fine with sound. (I’ve gone over all my audio settings.) When I open the problem score, Mixer shows a blank selection where “MS Basic” usually shows, and doesn’t let me try to select another option. The play button doesn’t work at all - the blue line stays exactly where it is and I can’t get any sound out of it at all. If I try to open another score, the entire Mixer menu is glitched out and is basically all white with no options at all. No idea how to fix. Assistance appreciated!

If it is a particular score that causes this, please post that score. mscz file.

In the file settings I see that Piano uses vst xlnaudio Addictive Keys.
Try opening the mixer panel and disabling this vst.
If Musescore has problems using vst, you can export the file to midi and open it in any DAW with vst and midi support.

That must be why it plays fine on my system. I don't have that font, so MU4 just loaded the Basic piano. For the sake of getting this project done on time, consider using the Basic piano. And worry about the vst later.

okay, i remember setting that - but if you look in the screenshot I attached, in the mixer panel I'm unable to select an option other than just blank. this file is already a copy I made today. any ideas how to remove the vst?

I'm attaching the file. All I did was re-save it to my system. The settings no longer mention VST.
