Help on adding notes
Hi,
Every time I try to add more than two notes, it moves them straight to a new bar. My time signature is 4/4, and I have not miscounted my note values. Is there a reason it could be doing this?

Could you please attach your .mscz file (instead of an image) or simply the selection of measures you show, via menu File / Save selection.

For some reason (?), the first four measures show an actual duration of 8/16 (which corresponds to a 2/4, and hence the small gray minus above the measures).
But all subsequent measures are as expected in nominal duration of 4/4 (I've entered a few notes from measure 5 in the first staff, file below)
Have you tried anything special for these first four measures?
In the meantime, depending on what you want to achieve, you can restore the nominal duration in the measures Properties (i.e. 4/4). This is what I did for the first two measures of the same file: 1Polyrhythm Composistion - copy online.mscz
