Massive Percussion Panel Fix
Hi All,
Just updated my muse score.
OS: macOS 14.7, Arch.: arm64, MuseScore Studio version (64-bit): 4.5.0-250721848, revision: 7c55023
Anyone know how to get rid of the massive percussion panel that fills my screen every time I click a percussion instrument's measure? My screen gets all shifted in just one click. Example attached. In a similar example, the mixer panel now pops up on the top and is huge. I know before my most recent update it used to go on the bottom, along with possible note inputs, and was a much more manageable size.
I've tried resizing, but every time I click back to a percussion measure the viewer jumps around and resizes all my panels like at the beginning.
If there's a simple default setting I've missed sorry for not finding it!

Try turning on "Use legacy percussion panel" under Edit -> Preferences -> Percussion.

+1 – it's super annoying. It basically makes it really difficult to write a drum part on a laptop, since it keeps popping up every time you click the drum stave and covers most of the screen.
Here's what I did. Please see attached screenshots, I found the "Preferences" under the main Musescore menu.
To end the frustration and insanity, just follow the steps pointed out by the grey arrow.
