Fretboard diagram linkage to chord symbol

The current fretboard diagram interface has changed the connection between chord symbol and diagram, such that if I enter a chord symbol the system replaces any linked diagram with something from the default diagram palette. Can this linkage be turned off? I NEVER want the diagram to be changed to match the symbol. I ALWAYS want to enter the specific voicing that I choose. I was unaware of this change in behavior, and it seems to have rendered all of my saved scores uneditable.

To be clear, I do not use the default diagram palette at all. I instead use my own palettes, and I usually just work from a blank grid to enter the specific voicing of interest.

I'm sorry if there's an obvious way to prevent this behavior, but I'm not finding it addressed in the UI, the handbook, or in forum posts. Thanks for any suggestions.
