Different horizontal sticking text placement when using ping shot / round notehead with dot - Muse VDL

• Apr 21, 2025 - 21:38

I'm using MuseVDL marching snare drums. I'm using the default ping shot notehead, "round white notehead with dot," and it's moving the sticking for that partial to the left of where it should be. The values in the inspector panel remain the same for horizontal offset of the sticking remain the same when looking at a sticking object on a ping shot versus a normal hit.

I tried switching noteheads, which did solve the issue. I tried changing the notehead of other sounds in the drumset to the round notehead, and the sticking became offset in the same way. Because of this, I think the issue is specifically with the round notehead

you can clearly see the difference here:

This bug / issue / etc. really irks me, since it leads to the sticking being just barely off and looking really weird, especially in phrases with multiple rim shots like this:

I'm on Windows 10 on the latest version of MuseScore Studio, version (64-bit): 4.5.1-250800846. I'm easily able to replicate the issue and can answer any questions.
