make notes bigger
I am writing right now a score for an orchestra... now I want to make the notes in one instrument in just 2 bars bigger than normal. Is this possible?

Escamotage: Select notes and make them small from Properties;
From Format/Style/Size set the value as you see fit (doesn't sound very orthodox to me).

Good idea, but the problem is, I am normally using cue size (small notes) in other parts of the score.....
Other than what @Shoichi described, no. I agree with @Shoichi that this sounds quite unorthodox and, if you are using cue-sized notes elsewhere, it will not work at all.
You can make everything larger but not a limited subset. This would be very much out of the ordinary in engraving music.
