Can't delete rest between notes
I'm trying to add an eighth note followed by a dotted quarter note and the app keeps adding the eighth rest in between and doesn't allow me to delete it. What tips or tricks can I follow to make this happen?

Add the dotted quarter with having that 8th note selected
