Lyric Spacing Resets Automatically

I've had this problem in several revisions of MS4, on several different scores. For some reason, despite having a saved style that is loaded by default (and, might I add, all other adjusted style details remain intact), lyric spacing minimum gap should be set to .60sp--and that is what the style dialog displays, however, the lyrics are squished together; I fix this by lowering the spacing and raising it back to .60sp, and that works. It kills me, though, that whenever I open a score again, if I forget to fix the lyric spacing, I'll often get music distributed before I realize I forgot to check.

Also, on an unrelated note, just a few minutes ago, I downgraded back to the earlier release of MS4 because the most recent one seems to be unstable on my Mac.
