2.0 beta / Mac OS X 10.9.5 - PDF question
Hi, folks.
I've been using 2.0 beta for a project and have generally been pretty happy with it.
I do notice that Exported PDF files are really quite large. And when I look at the file properties via Acrobat, it appears that the pages are being rendered as raster (bitmap) as opposed to vector (no fonts embedded).
If I select Print > PDF > Open PDF in Preview, I get a vector PDF that's significantly smaller in size (on the order of 80% smaller for a three-page document) with embedded subsets of all the fonts used.
If it's the case that Export is silently producing raster PDF as output, I don't see controls for tweaking the resolution of the exported pages. (I see in preferences that PNG/SVG output DPI can be configured, but it's not clear to me whether this has an effect on PDF export.)
Seems like I have a workaround in place for generating reasonably sized vector PDFs, but I was curious as to whether this was a characteristic of export on all platforms, or specific to Mac OS X.
Thanks in advance!

It's indeed a known issue on mac. It's due to a bug in Qt, the underlying framework of MuseScore. If you want to little details: https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-10094

Okay, thanks for the update. I'll use the workaround. :-)
