How to do a shift sign (for strings) In musescore?
So I was just writing music when I had to shift to a high note. But I realized or could not find a symbol for shifting. Can someone help?

What does the symbol that you want look like? If you mean ottava alta (8va) then it's in the Lines palette.

The symbol is a - then a number for example, -3

If it's literally just plain text, then I would suggest entering it as staff text. If it is more special then that, perhaps you can find an link to an image or article about this?

I don't see the "-" there, but if you mean the notations "1st" and "4th", then this is indeed just plain text, so you can use Staff Text (Ctrl+T). The fingerings can be added using the Fingerings palette.
