Saving audio
I am trying to save an mp3 of my score. I put a new soundfont on. The playback is in the new soundfont, but when I try to export to mp3, it sounds in the mp3 just like it does with the original soundfont. (The one I had before).

Did you click "Save to Score" in the View>Synthesiser window. I think that is needed to associate the soundfont selection with the saved audio.

I have a score which uses a sound font I uploaded but despite clicking 'Save to Score' in the View>Synthesiser window I find I have to repeat this every time I open Musescore. It only saves it if I close the file and open it again, not once I close Musescore.

Are you talking about exporting a specific score to an audio file? Sounds like you might be talking about something different - about wanting to set a particular soudnfont as the *default* for each time you start MuseScore. In that case, it is the "Set as Default" button you want.

No, sorry, I'm not talking about audio files, I was only referring to the 'Save to Score' button which doesn't seem to have any effect. I don't want to set the uploaded soundfont as a default because all my other scores use FluidR3Mono_GM. The Save to Score button suggests that I should be able to permanently link a particular soundfont to a score, whereas in practice I have to select it each time I open this score and then change back to FluidR3 when I open another score.

What "Save to Score" does is write the information about the currently loaded soundfonts to the current score. Next time you open this score, you can then press "Load from Score" to reload that exact same set of soundfonts, rather than having to load them individually. It is not meant to do this automatically each time you open the score, because that might not be what you want, if the soundfonts are large. You especially might not want that happening every time you switch tabs between open scores. But indeed, in some cases, you would be fine with that. Anyhow, that's how it is currently.
