Separate voices with same rhythm: share common stems & hooks?

• Apr 18, 2015 - 04:17

In MS2, for e.g. 2 trumpets playing simultaneous eighth-notes in octave intervals in a classical orchestral score, each voice appears with its own stem and hook. Changing the direction of the stem in one voice, to make both stems line up, still gives 2 hooks, which looks cluttered. It would be more appropriate to have it look like an octave chord in one voice with a single hook. In general, if 2 (or 3?) voices have the same rhythm so that the stems (turned in the same direction) line up, can they be made to show the same as a group of chords in a single voice?
