Application (Menu) Text
Help please.
I mistakenly and stupidly changed the size of the text font for the application menu items.(not something in a score) As a result of that change, the window size has changed such that I can no longer see the item that I need to change back to the original font size. There is no vertical scroll on the window so I seem to be stuck.
I have tried to uninstall and re-install, but that didn't help.
Since the item I changed is no longer visible, I can't give you the "precise" description but it is located on the window that appears from:
Edit--Preferences--General-- Text Size?
Please see captured screenshot image in the attached .jpg file
I am running MuseScore Version 9.5 on Windows XP.
Thanks for your help.

To scroll vertically, you should just need to use the scroll wheel on the mouse. Does that not work?

I don't have a mouse with a scroll wheel. I'm using a laptop. While I'm no expert, I don't believe there is any vertical scroll capability on the window in question. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Try to Revert to factory settings

I thought this was a great suggestion. I wasn't aware of the -F option. Unfortunately, it does not solve the problem. Thanks for your help.

Close MuseScore and remove all the files in
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\MusE\MuseScore
And
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\MusE

Thanks, I figured it was a registry entry that was causing the problem, but I didn't want to go fiddling without knowing exactly what to do there.
As it turns out, I just solved the problem by playing around with screen size parameters and Windows DPI settings. This enabled me to see enough of the problem window to reset the text size. It turns out that there is a button at the bottom of the window that allows one to reset to factory defaults, but this button was hidden from view. Since I couldn't see it, I couldn't use it. That also would have fixed the problem.
Thank you again for your suggestion. Much appreciated.

I have done the same as you and cannot "reach " the button on the preferences box to apply the changes
I am using a net book. Please tell me step by step how you fixed it

thank you for all your help I will remember all this for next time especially hiding the task bar for a bit but I reverted to factory settings in the end!
I too am using MuseScore on a netbook. The problem here, as with several other applications, is that my netbook, like many others, uses a wide screen format, which reduces the vertical size of the screen (i.e. 1024 by 600 pixels instead of the conventional 1024 by 768). A dialog box full of options thereby loses a portion of the bottom section, and part or at least all of the Submit and Cancel buttons. Unfortunately, dialog boxes like this can't be resized vertically by dragging the edges with the mouse or touchpad, as you could do with a window (I can only resize them horizontally). I have my font small enough to see the top half of each button in MuseScore's dialog box, but if I made the font any smaller I wouldn't be able to read the main menus.
What I sometimes do in such situations is right-click the Windows taskbar, go to Properties, and then auto-hide the taskbar. Once the mouse pointer is no longer at the bottom, the taskbar disappears and I can usually see enough of the buttons to finish setting my preferences. Then I go back and unhide the taskbar again.
Again, this isn't just with MuseScore. I've run into this snag in several other Windows programs, even very recent ones.

http://musescore.org/en/download lists 1024x768 pixel resolution as the minimal requirement

True, so I'm glad the preferences dialog was the only problem. It no longer is, since my preferences have been established for quite some time now. The rest of MuseScore looks great on this machine!

Maybe with the number of netbooks around this should be rethought?
I have one with a 1024 x 600 display, and am constantly running into this problem on webpages.

Yes, I think something needs to be done to make software more compatible with the wide screen format. Windows 7 has been touted by Microsoft as particularly good on netbooks, yet in their OS and in Internet Explorer they too seem to be ignoring the common screen resolution found on these devices.
But hey, I've gone off topic. Sorry about that! ;)
