How to format the staff with multiples of the same instrument but not have them connected with a bar.
Hello.
I hope you can help me. I teach drum set. I am trying to use muscore to help create sheet music for my students. What I need to do is have one staff of 4 measures of drum set and then a separate staff of 4 measures of another drum set on the same page but not linked with a bar. They need to be separate with text in between with explanations.
How can I create this? Or can I at all. It seams to me like there is an option when you add the instruments for a "Staff 2" of "Staff 3" but I can not select "Staff 1" and change it.
Thanks in advance.

Edit: forget that and list to what Marc said ;-)
Although for more text a (vertical) frame might be the way to go.
It sounds like you don't actually want a second staff, but simply another lne of music for the same staff. In which case, simply add the additional measure (Ctrl+B, or Add / Measures), then add a line break wherever you want it to occur (click barline, press Enter).
If you really do mean two staves - so the music should play back simultaneously, not sequentially - then you can suppress the initial barline via Style / General / Barlines. But I rather doubt this is actually what you want. it seems much more likely you just want another line of music with one staff per line, not two staves for a single line of music.

You were right. I did not really want a second staff. I guess I need to read the manual but I am new to score writing so i did not know the right question to ask or research. The Ctrl+B did the trick.
Thanks you for all of your help
