What percussion is used in this Game of Thrones soundtrack?
I don't know anything about percussion whatsoever, so could anyone be kind enough to tell me the percussion used at 1:00 in the video?

Thanks! (It's a pretty odd soundtrack)

Most likely a brief tympani roll and then probably the bass drum is being used differently than you are used to hearing in orchestral music. At any rate, sounds like some sort of large drum but a lot depends on where the microphones were, the type of room, any post-recording mixing.

I'm thinking toms, which can be found under Unpitched Percussion in MuseScore.

*sigh* That makes a fifth unplayed Song Exploder episode. I'm getting way behind on my podcast listening. Maybe it will help if I replace my broken earbuds this week… But seriously, wow. That came out at exactly the right time, and I bet it does answer the question.
There's more than one drum being used here.
I think that there are several Taiko drums of different sizes being used - not sure how many,
HTH :)
