I have uploaded a clip of melody I heard long ago in the 1950s. I have not succeeded to find out which piece it is.

It is reminiscent of many British folk/traditional tunes. Can you remember where you saw it, heard it, in which context etc. Was it at school, on the radio (eg BBC Singing Together)?

I heard the Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE) about 1955-56. It is played by a string orchestra, and it is part of a larger piece. I learned to play the mandolin, and I used this melody as training piece.
