Using built in piano keyboard?

Hi, Just wanted to say great program. Very awesome and easy to use. Thank you so much. I just got the program yesterday and I found the piano keyboard when you push "P"....however when i play a note it's held indefinitely and I don't want it held forever.

I just need the piano keyboard to help me find the notes I hear in my head...so like a Quick eight note or quarter note would be good. And of course held longer to hear voices in chords etc would be nice.

Basically would anyone tell me how to use the piano keyboard effectively to find the notes or reccomend a 2nd party keyboard program to help me just hear the notes.

i don't want to have to move my keyboard to my computer etc...there's no reason for that. I'm sure my questions and requests can be achieved.
