How do you get rid of unwanted rests?
I really appreciate the use of rests in the program but sometimes, they are a nuisance when I dont even need them. They just pop up automatically and can't get rid of them even if I click "cut." Does anyone else have this problem?

In general, MuseScore requires you to have the proper number of beats in each measur, just as the rules of music notation demand. So in 4/4, there have to be four beats in each measure. Deleting a rest would violate that. If your intent is to move the following note earlier, you need to do that directly - via cut and paste, for example.
If that doesn't solve your problem, please post your score and explain exactly what you want to do.
