Way too much reverb
Hi, I've read as many other post as I could about this issue, but nothing worked.
I use Muse Score 2.0.1 on Mac Yosemite
I've turned down the reverb and chorus, and also disabled the effects in the synthesiser. But there is still too much reverb, I can't hear the bass notes clearly enough.
Can someone help?

There should be only a very small amount of reverb by default, and while the Mixer won't affect the internal synthesizer (only MIDI export), the Synthesizer master effects should. So if you have disabled the effects, there should be zero reverb.
It could be the specific sound you are using in the soundfont you are using happens to have been recorded with reverb. Please post the score you are having trouble with, and say what soundfont you are using (if you haven't changed it from the default of FluidR3, say that).
When you say "bass notes", I won't if you are perhaps using the "Slow Strings" patch. It is not meant to be clear - it's meant to be a pad with a slow decay. So simply switching to one of the other stirng patches should fix that.

My solution so far is to turn down all effects, set the FluidR3 to No Effects in A and B, turn down all effects (also in the mixer), then ERASE the FluidR3 sound engine, re-install it and then "save to note sheet" (Gem i Nodeark - in Danish :-)

For the record, the only one of those that is really relevant is the second - setting the effects to nothing in the Synthesizer window. The mixer controls do not affect the soundfont at all - only external playback via Jack. And erasing and ireinstalling Fluid has no effect at all. Saving to score does have an effect, but it's not what you really need to be doing. If you want your changes to reverb to be remembered next time you start MuseScore, simply press the "Set as Default" button.
So far the save to score works for us and the default doesn't. But thanks anyway. Anything to make it work is okay. The reinstallatio not Fluid is not neccesary, that's true

Save to Score is needed to get audio export to honor the chosen soundfont settings. But it is not needed to get reverb changes to "stick" across a restart of MuseScore.
