Musescore 2 loads and then stops immediately
After I installed Musescore 2.0.1 on my HP 255 G3 Notebook (running Windows 8.1, AMD E1-610 APU)

It could be many different causes. Some people reported that MuseScore crashes if there are no headphones or speakers plugged to the computer. It's worth a try.

Hah! I thought you might be kidding, but you are right as rain; I plugged in a [usb] headset and Musescore 2 ran fine. Now I need to see if Musescore 1.3 reads files generated by Musescore 2, as few of my colleagues will update to 2.0.

An attempt to fix this maked it into the nighly builds (which will become 2.0.2 shortly), maybe worth a try, whether it fixes that issue for you? We had mixed feed back though.

MuseScore 1.x will not read mscz/mscx files created by MuseScore 2.0
However, as 1.x and 2.0 can coexist this shouldn't be much of a problem.

You can share scores from 2.x to 1.x by exporting to MusicXML.
