How to detach part from score so that what you do in the part is not reflected in the score?
I have a lead sheet.
I want to transpose it to different instruments so I generate a part and then transpose that part.
However, I want the original lead sheet and all parts to stay in their key.
A the moment, any change I make in a part is reflected in the "score" so the score and parts change and are always the same.
I'm sure I saw this somewhere, but I cannot find it.

There is no way to do that; parts weren't meant for that use case. It's not a bad idea, though. You could just have your main score have separate staves - one for each transposition - and generate parts that way.

Thanks. That's odd, I thought I saw a reference to this before with a switch to stop part changes being reflected back. It was some time ago and I must have misunderstood.

Well, you can certainly export the part to a new score ("save as" while viewing the part) which would break the link. But that defeats the purpose of using a part in the first place.
I do also have a memory of someone finding a clever way to get lead sheets in different keys that I was going to try out for myself, maybe you have the same memory. I can't find the thread, though, and don't remember what the suggestion was. Might have been not too different from what I suggested above.
