Muse 2 will not launch
Hi, I used Muse 1 a couple of years ago, and it worked fine. Just tried upgrading to Muse 2 but keep getting error message with launch. As per other postings I found when I searched here, I deleted Muse 1 and retried Muse2 & I have tried with different browsers: Chrome, Safari and Firefox. I have a Macbook Pro with 10.6.8 osx. See error below. I'd really appreciate help/suggestions.

Maybe an OS problem?

MuseScore 2 is not compatible with Mac OSX 10.6. The last version available for 10.6 is MuseScore 1.3.
Your computer seems powerful enough to upgrade to Mac OSX 10.10 Yosemite. It's a free upgrade (as in free beer, not free speech). You can get it from the App Store on your mac.

Though it should be noted that Yosemite introduced an entirely different visual theme for OS X, and I, at least, really am not a fan of it. 10.9 Mavericks is much more similar to Snow Leopard. It's no longer available for free from the App Store, but people are still sharing the installer via BitTorrent (and, I believe, that would in fact be legal).

sigh...I am afraid I saw this too late....did the Yosemite download...all ready don't like it, but did get Musescore going...thank you anyway...

Hmm. If you did a complete Time Machine backup before upgrading (which it is always wise to do!), it may still be possible to go from Yosemite to Mavericks. You'd need to install Mavericks fresh on your computer, and then restore everything from your backup. It would be a pain, but it could be done.
Stop me if this is getting too technical, but you could also try installing Mavericks on a separate partition of your hard drive (created using Disk Utility) and dual-booting (by holding down the [Option] key when starting up). Of course, you'd still need to get the Mavericks installer in the first place…

Oh MY, yes! the devil is in the details,
isn't it! I see that now. Sorry to have bothered you. I did the upgrade (sigh..had been avoiding) and everything seemed to be load and launched fine. Thank you.
