4 hand piano score instrument designation
I have a piano 4-hands score in which Primo & Secondo parts are in the same system rather than on facing pages. Currently the instrument designation on each stave is "piano" or Pno. How can I change this to read Primo and Secondo without affecting the format?

Right-click on an empty part of any measure.
Select Stave Properties.
Enter a long and short name of your choice instead of Piano and Pno.

Or on the currently existing instrument name itself.
Thank you; this solved the problem immediately.
Can you help me with the following: I am having trouble finishing a 26-page composition because each time I open the document I find that some articulation marks (accents, slurs, crescendi) and text have migrated, or in the case of a crescendo, shortened into something that looks more like an accent. How do I nail this stuff down?

Use the arrow keys (not the mouse) to extend the length of a line

Use the arrow keys with [Shift] to extend the length of a line. ;-)

And be sure to attach accents and other markings to the notes you want them to appear over, rather than attaching them to one note but then dragging them to make it *look* like they are are associated with another. Those sorts of manual adjustments will work only to the extent the layout of your piece never changes - eg, something that causes fewer or more measures to fit on some given system.
