Very simple problem needs fixing

I'm trying to transcribe a Piano piece in Musescore to b Flat Trumpet. But when i change the instrument to Trumpet, it just changes the sound. I want all the Notes and everything for Trumpet Instead of for Piano. Is that possible in this program? If so, Tell me how. Also JUST installed the program so telling me what to do in detail would really help. thank you
