Reset text to style causes "&" and subsequent characters to disappear

Create a staff text object. Write (for the sake of argument) the phrase "Text & Text." Exit the text object. Now, click on it again and press the "reset text to style" button in the Inspector.

Expected result: No change.
Actual Result: The "&" symbol and all subsequent text disappears.
