Dynamics Change Staves

Hey Y'all. So, it becomes frustrating when I have a low note, and I'm trying to add a dynamic to it and the dynamic overlaps the note. So I change the position to move it out of the way, downwards so that dynamics and crescendos are shown. The only problem is that the dynamics auto snap to the stave below due to the placement of the dynamic. Is there a way to turn of auto-stave dynamics?

I guess you're using the mouse to move things. Don't - use the keyboard (arrow keys alone for fine motions, with Ctrl for coarser motion). Or the Inspector if you want to move a bunch of elements at once.
