overlapping notes
When entering notes into a new score with two voices (see attachment) I am having a problem in measure 2 and 4 where there is an overlapping dotted half note from voice no 1 with a down stem eighth note of the second voice. I expected that the resulting note body would be ‘hollow’. But the result is a note with two heads in ‘offset’. Can this be changed into one note with a hollow body? This is normally practice in a situation like this.

The current layout by MuseScore is also normal practice. But your layout is possible.
1. Right click on the offset eighth note and choose "Set Invisible"
2. Double click on the same offset eighth note and use the Left and Right arrows key to move it in place
3. Use Ctrl+Arrow for finer adjustments
In the attached score I also went to uncheck Display > Show Invisible. That way you can see the note is hollow.
