Struggling with chords
I've just started to us MuseScore and want to put together some simple sheet music for a ukulele group. I've read the getting started and basics sections and can create a simple score, but I can't work out the best way to work with chords.
Is there a way to enter chords directly by name rather than building them note-by-note? Are "chord symbols" just text or are they linked to the actual chord they represent? Do I need to look at custom palettes, or is that only if I want to include fretboard diagrams?
I found and old announcement on MuseScore about "New flexible chord symbol entry and rendering" which suggests I'm missing something, but not sure what? https://musescore.org/node/21202
Could someone help with my confusion please? Thanks!

Chord symbols are basically just text, special in the way that they transpose with the score, but they don't contain the voicing of the chord they describe.

Thanks. Do you know how I can use rhythm slashes to represent chords in MuseScore?

See the Handbook under Tools, "Fill With Slashes" and "Rhythmic Slash Notation".
