Entering rests with a MIDI keyboard

Hi this might have been discussed before but I couldn't quickly locate a thread. What is the preferred way to enter a rest while entering notes through a MIDI keyboard ? Do I still need to use my computer keyboard and enter 0 as usual ? Any help would be appreciated.
