When not in "note entry mode" the menu entries "add C", "add D", ... doesn't add a note to the currently selected chord as Shift+"note" does in note entry mode. It just changes the value of the note. Issue is also in the latest trunk.
There is Notes/Add Note.../C and Notes/Add Note.../Add C. The latter adds C to chord, the former replaces the existing chord/rest. So whatever the problem was back when this issue got created, it is fixed now.

Steps to reproduce:
1, Open promenade and select a note
2. Notes > Add Note > Add C
Expected behavior: C should be added to the existing chord
Actual behavior: C replaces the existing note
MuseScore r. 3707 nightly trunk. Bug not present in 0.9.6.3 stable

It's been this way for six years, and it's no less legitimate.
There is Notes/Add Note.../C and Notes/Add Note.../Add C. The latter adds C to chord, the former replaces the existing chord/rest. So whatever the problem was back when this issue got created, it is fixed now.
Going from by design to fixed means the closed issue gets unclosed for another two weeks.
That indeed was my intention
