Why are there now three crotchet beats in a 4/4 bar?
Ritual Dance in Gm.mscz There are other problems as well. I put in 5/4 bar and suddenly when I insert notes, a semihemidemisemiquaver rest and a hemidemisemiquaver rest appears in the same bar (even though I only have a semibreve tied to a crotchet in the bar)! It plays back normally (as a 5/4 bar). I've dragged the rests below the score, along with other rests that have magically appeared elsewhere. When I tried to post my score I got this:
Measure 27 Staff 4 incomplete. Expected: 5/4; Found: 43/32\nMeasure 27 Staff 5 incomplete. Expected: 5/4; Found: 341/256\nMeasure 28 Staff 4 incomplete. Expected: 4/4; Found: 6/8\nMeasure 50 Staff 3 incomplete. Expected: 4/4; Found: 43/32\nMeasure 50 Staff 5 incomplete. Expected: 4/4; Found: 43/32
I tried all of the methods on the 'Fixing a corrupt score' page, but none worked. If you could help I would be very grateful.

I found many Measures with exchange of voices 1/2.
Check if all goes well. For measures problems: Add / Bars> Insert Bars ... copy and paste and then delete.
It happens when you open with 2.0.2 a score generated with 1.3
FWIW< don't drag rests to get rid of them. If they are not musically necessary (usally they are), hide them by pressing V or by using the Inspector. Moving them by more than small amounts will just cause problems down the road.
Anyhow, if you can provide step by step instructions to show how the corruption occrued in the first palce that would be useful.

I dragged in the 5/4 time signature and started inserting notes. When I tied the semibreve to the crotchet in one of the instruments, the unnecessary rests appeared.

Rests are not notmally unnecessary - they are required to show each beat of each voice.
But again, if you are having problems, then in order to help, we need you to give *precise* step by step instructions to reproduce the problem.
