Dynamics and overall score markings

• Nov 15, 2015 - 01:30

Greetings!

I had something very unusual happen to a score that I was working on. You see, I sing in a church choir and to help out myself and choir members I put the music into Musescore so people can hear their own parts. Well this one happened to be William Byrd's "Ego Sum Panis Vivium".

I got all the notes and lyrics into the score and I was happy with it because as I mentioned it's only to learn notes. I saved the score like normal and moved on.

Well, I opened up the same file today, and after I listened to it a few times, it dawned on me... ALL the dynamics, markings and general performance instructions were in the score!

How did this happen? Is Musescore connected to the internet site and linked to a known version of the work and downloaded it to the file? I know I didn't put them there, and I'm pretty sure I don't have elves working on the scores at night.

For informational purposes I run either MuseScore 1.3 or 2.02 on a Windows 10 x-64 laptop...

Thanks! In advance,
Travis

No, there is no such automatic featurew. Somehow you must have downloaded a more complete version of that file from somewhere and then apparently forgotten about it, or someone borrowed your computer and entered the dynamics for you :-).
