No sound

I have two problems that might be linked on a Mac. The main problem is that i have no sound on musescore, but it may be in connection with this weird occurrence.

When i open up musescore, a corrupted file is created in the folder I labeled 'Music' to keep all of my scores in. When I removed my files out and deleted this folder, it created the folder again with only this file in it. The file only has an empty sound folder in the resources folder. I think somehow that is linked to the fact that i have no sound while on musescore.

Ive attempted deleting musescore and reinstalling and then i deleted all musescore assets along with it and reinstalled and none of those have worked. Help if you can, thanks!
