Transposing to new instrument
I have created a melody line for violin in treble clef. I want to also make it available to my cello player (bass clef). Can I do this without re-writing it note for note?

Of course you can. Just copy the measures containing the melody line, then paste them into the cello staff (I suppose in another score). Then, use "Notes->Transpose" for transposing, for example choosing "By Interval (Down)" and choosing which interval is appropiate for the cellos.

Thanks. That is clear.
Or instead of Notes / Transpose, just use Ctrl+Down, which transposes the selected notes down an octave. Depending on high the melody is, you might need to transpose all or part of it down *two* octaves.
