Software loses beat count in 2nd voice. v 9.6

I'm using 2 voices for notating classical guitar music. When I edit the 2nd voice, MuseScore routinely looses the number of beats in the second voice while maintaining the correct numbeer of beats in the first voice. I work around this by deleting all the 2nd voice notes (which then seems to reset the 'counter' of 2nd voice beats per measure) and re-entering the 2nd voice notes.

Is there a 're-calc' function that will force the re-calculating of the the beats in the measure on a per-voice basis?
